I am interested in buying a Wharram Tiki 30 and then putting it into a syndicate with 1 or 2 other owner
I live in Sydney myself and would look to use it for 1 – 3 months maximum per year.
I am looking for people with similar values to myself and my wife who are happy to share the costs, maintenance work and general management tasks of a small simple syndicate sharing a Tiki 30 catamaran, currently in sea worthy condition, but need some minor jobs to make it suitable for a syndicate..
- The vessel will be located at or near the Whitsunday Passage
- It could be on a mooring if one of the syndicate members lives reasonably close by to check it when there are sudden changes in the weather.
- It could be stored in a local boatyard, on the hard or at a jetty, so the boat is easy t o access.
- The location needs to be convenient for an airport or possibly a railway station that has a day service to Brisbane.
- You need to be prepared to fund 50% or 33.333 % of realistic annual costs – annual maintenance, mooring charges, registration, damage incurred whil being sailed, for example.
- You need to be prepared to do your share ofthe simple maintence tasks, like hill cleaning, anti fouling, for example.
- All the members need to be as enthusiastic and commited to the design philosophies of James Wharram, his first wife Ruth and his last wife Hanneke Boon.
- Your need to be prepared to committ your share of the purchase price, plus an agreed sum for the Maintenance and Expenses for the first 12 months up front, possibly in the next 2 – 8 weeks.
If this syndicate idea catches your interest please send me an email or a text message ASAP.
